Fisherman’s road, Directly East

Heavy boat traffic about 1 mile off shore.  Varying reports of activity, but just about every boat catching a couple of perch.  Almost everyone is using slip bobbers with crawlers it seems the size of the fish here are better than surrounding areas.  Interesting to note, the boats with the most fish and largest fish were dead sticking directly off the side of the boat.  No reports of quality walleyes taken in this area.

1 mile east, quarter mile south of Fisherman’s road.

Again very heavy traffic in about 10 feet of water.  Some perch taken, but not as many as directly west of the launch.  Slippy’s still method of choice here also.   Transition areas and rock bottom are keys to locating the perch.

“Mudgins”, Pete’s & the swamp

No boats….no fish reports

Third reef

Did very well here Saturday, as I picked up 20-25 perch in the 6-10” range.  Slip bobbers tight to the bottom with ¼ crawlers.  Dead sticks also worked, but not as well.  Several quality white bass also taken.  There were only 5 boats with in eye sight Saturday morning.  Everyone must have been chasing the other boats near fisherman’s.  A few walleye casts produced no fish.

Trolling

No reports

Saturday was the heaviest fishing boat action I’ve seen since May.  Good to see everyone out on the pond.
