Winnebago Waterways group continuing work
Nearly two years ago, a group surveyed people about what issues they’d like to see improved around the Lake Winnebago System.
Even though progress has been slow, the work of Winnebago Waterways continues.
Member Erin Gerred says they still meet twice a month, and they’ve already worked to create universal boat launch fees around Lake Winnebago.
Gerred says they need to find an expert to advise them on some of the bigger issues that they want to tackle, including algae.
Gerred is Fond du Lac County’s administration director. She says the group is creating a proposal to send to local county boards to get some money to find a consultant, or a non-profit group, to help them. She says they should finish the proposal by the end of the month.
