The Wisconsin Department of Resources has released their 2013 Lake Winnebago and Winnebago System yellow perch summary.  The report is attached as a pdf attachment.

The Spring study is in its second year, and has given similar results despite drastic weather differences from the first two years.

Some interesting facts:

  1.  There has been an increase in the overall size of the perch in 2013
  2. About 95% of the population has an age of either 2 or 3 years old
  3. There is a huge mortality rate of perch on the Winnebago system, assumed to be a combination of harvest and natural causes.
